The purpose of CCHEA is to support and encourage home educators by providing information and opportunities, educational and social. CCHEA is a Christian, non-profit organization. Membership is open to all those wishing to home school their children in an environment of Christian principles applied to cooperatively enhance home education. CCHEA's Steering Committee encourages and facilitates the development of connections within the membership by providing an infrastructure for communication and interaction by whatever means are determined to best serve the group. Depending on evolving interests and needs, the infrastructure may include but not be limited to the following: organizational/informational meetings, fellowships, curriculum/used book fairs, inspirational/informational guest speakers, newsletters, website, membership directory, information and support for new homeschoolers, etc.

CCHEA members lead activities which vary from year to year depending on the interests and inspiration of the membership. Volunteers organize field trips, clubs, park days, co-ops, youth activities, service groups, public speaking/debate groups, science labs, art classes, music classes, P.E. classes, drama groups, etc. By serving in these capacities, CCHEA supports families in developing Godly character in their children and in educating them with excellence.
